2023 “Burn it Down” LAN is a go and tickets are on sale!
Our LAN has been in Pittsburgh, Phoenix, and for almost the last decade in Cincinnati (ok, Northern, KY). The Cincy area has been a home away from home for our community and we have thoroughly enjoyed the area. The gathering of our members has always made it special, but we have embraced the area and it sort of felt like our second home. We have been to ball games, multiple breweries (props to Rheingest and I promise I will return those pint glasses!), played golf (and frolf!), went shooting, visited Sugar Tits (an actual place and not Seadog's alias), been…
The State of AAA Games (Opinion Post)
It was random weekend in the summer of 2017 when I realized how awesome online multiplayer gaming could be. Not more than a week later, I found out how truly awful it could also be. Both events changed my gaming habits forever. How I got to this place… I’ve been a long time console gamer. My first experience with gaming came in the form of an old hand-me-down Coleco Telstar system, hooked up to the RF adapter on my parents’ Cadillac-sized television back in the early-80’s. Playing several different versions of what was essentially Pong had me hooked. I loved…
Philips 329M1RV / 279M1RV Gaming Monitors Review and Recommendations
Back in April of ‘22, I started a search for a new monitor to use with my newly ordered Mac Studio which would be replacing my ancient iMac, hence the need for a monitor. I’d be using this for semi-pro work in regard to video editing and graphic design. Most of which I’d be doing for our great community here at Pork Chop Platoon. The monitor would have to be 4k, have a great color gamut, and have USB-C/Thunderbolt as a display port. Keep that in mind I realized that I’d also need a new monitor to use for the…
Pork Chop Platoon Staff
The Pork Chop Platoon’s founders wanted to create something special and to be more than just an Xbox gaming community for older gamers. They also knew it would take an awesome cast of personalities and skillsets to truly make their vision for this community a reality. They feel they have accomplished this and that this Staff has created one of the premier Xbox gaming communities. Come meet our leaders and the PCP Officers who keep the organization playing on to the next round.
Games We Are Playing Right Now

“The history of the Community is like a refinery, but it’s all part of the process. Through the fire and the heat we were made stronger, and I can honestly say there’s not one person in the Community now that isn’t a cool cat. The rule of one bad apple in every bunch doesn’t apply anymore. It’s pretty amazing if you think about it. I can’t imagine how I played xbox before, the difference is night and day. I put off playing single player games cuz I want to play with a group of pigs in MP. I’ve got a drawer full of unfinished games, to me that’s a testament to the Community.”
“I’ve played COD for years but haven’t played multiplayer EVER until Black Ops (I think I’m a lv4 on MW2.) One night, I played with an organized Community that communicated and it was a revelation. Since joining PCP, I’ve had so much fun. I know we’ve never met in person, but I consider the guys I game with on the regular friends. I look forward to growing with you guys and girls both as a gamer and a person. I LOVE THIS CLAN!!!”
“I joined in May 2017. I was still playing BF1, even though my crew moved on to other shooters. I saw a post on the Battlefield forums about PCP, and I liked that there was no mention of “required practices,” “K/D minimums” or any reference to the word “Mil-sim.” @ducatirican posted something to the extent of, “Joining was the best gaming decision I ever made.” I thought that was pretty high praise. Coincidentally, he was also the first Pig I met in person when I arrived at LAN ‘18. Even though I don’t play a huge variety of titles, I enjoy staying connected with everyone on these forums.”
