IW Announces Call of Duty ZERO!

Apr 1, 2011

It has just been announced that Infinity Ward will be releasing a new Call of Duty this November.  The game, currently title Call of Duty ZERO, brings the FPS back to its roots according to Activision CEO and budding game designer Bobby Kotick.  ” Making games is easy,” said Kotick during a recent interview, “anyone with a PC can do it, hell I developed this whole game myself and just look at it”!

And look at it we did.  Kotick allowed the Pork Chop Platoon a chance to demo this new installment in the Call of Duty franchise before anyone else.

In a nutshell, the game lets players assume the role of a below average National Guard soldier on a series of dangerous missions set in Mexico, Canada, and West Virginia. Through the game’s 10 levels, players will have to contend with enemy soldiers, jeeps, tanks, and helicopters as they try to complete their mission objectives including rescuing hostages, recovering a spy satellite and using the express lane at  WalMart even though you have 23 items.  As an Army cook, players will have access to a variety of weapons, including the M16, the M4, the M203 grenade launcher, and the AK-47, as well as standard equipment such as a cooking knife, night-vision goggles ( only in the limited edition ), and a GPS tracker app for your smart phone. While the GPS is great and acts as your mini map, our character was hit with large roaming fees while on the Mexican missions and had no cell reception while in West Virginia.

Call of Duty ZERO will soon be available in stores for an approximate retail price of $3,019.49.  The limited edition with night-vision comes in at just under $25,000.

Happy April 1st PCP
