Every Monday night our very own Ginger hosts a night at the movies via a NetFlix party on Xbox Live. If you have NetFlix and care to join, jump on Monday nights at 8:30PM to help make suggestions and the movie starts at 9PM EST. I have to admit that the movies are not always top notch, but what they lack in creative direction we make up for in banter a la Mystery Science Theatre 3000! So stop by, grab your popcorn, favorite beverage and laugh your Monday night away with friends and the movies!
This week BigStorm, Ginger and I watched -
Necrosis
(Blood Snow) 2009 NR 80 minutes
After six friends arrive at a mountain cabin for a long weekend, a monstrous snowstorm traps them. Soon the spirits of the Donner Party — frontier settlers who resorted to cannibalism in a similar snowstorm — begin to haunt them. As they start turning on each other, it’s not clear whether the ghosts are real or the result of their fear. James Kyson Lee, George Stults, Tiffany and Penny Drake star in this tense psychological chiller.
- Cast: James Kyson Lee, George Stults, Tiffany, Penny Drake, Danielle De Luca, Robert Michael Ryan, Michael Berryman, Mickey Jones
- Director: Jason Stephens
- Genres: Horror, Supernatural Horror, Psychological Thrillers
The Good – You saw a nice set of boobs, some cameos by veteran horror actors and some lovely mountain scenery (in order of goodness).
The Bad – Poor acting, bad direction and more holes in the plot than Swiss cheese.
This movie gets a B out of a possible BACON. Trust me, don’t watch this crap if you can help it, instead check out ALIVE, which is a much better movie about being trapped in the snowy mountains and eating human flesh to survive.
That’s all for this week, swing by next Tuesday for a review of our next film choice and remember, there are no bad movie nights…just bad movies!
